VirusTotal += PCTools

including related ThreatExpert reports
[News]
We've recently added the PCTools engine to VirusTotal. It is a nice addition as it includes TreatExpert links whenever a sample has been processed by that great tool of the company.

Re: VirusTotal += PCTools

Do you have added PC Tools Antivirus engine or PC Tools Internet Security engine? ThreatExpert is a fantastic tool!

Re: VirusTotal += PCTools

Please, add the PCMAV 1.9 or newer antivirus to the engine. It can scans local viruses more accurate. (http://pcmav.server.or.id)

PcTools Anti-Virus used they own engine.
(They used VirusBuster engine in previous version.)

PcTools Anti-Virus product have both free and paid edition.

Re: VirusTotal += PCTools

Could you add PC Tools Internet Security Engine (and database) ? Because PC Tools Antivirus (free and not free) is awful, it detect a too low number of viruses. PC Tools Internet Security is the most complete software of PC Tools Software, and detect more and more sample than PC Tools Antivirus .

Re: VirusTotal += PCTools

I'm guess Pctools detection used Spyware doctor and they own anti virus engine too.

Because I found the string "!sd6" an the end on detection name on virustotal.

Re: VirusTotal += PCTools

Yes,it is true. I have scan a file infected with "Winantivirus", with PC Tools Antivirus, and it doesn't detect it. PC Tools in virustotal, however, detect it as "Rogue.WinSoftware".

ok,thanks!

Re: VirusTotal += PCTools

Another question : Why the version of PC Tools is 4.4.2.0 ?? what software is referring to? (sorry for my terrible english :-) )

Re: VirusTotal += PCTools

please update PCTOOL's engine to 6.0.1.440(spyware doctor) or 6.0.0.18(PC Tools AntiVirus).

You still use : "PCTools 4.4.2.0" -- it is too old.

Thanks
