Well so many people use it because symantec basically comes installed on every pc I ever owned(no longer a pc user, THANK GOD) but symantec has marketed their product everywhere, is has more shelf space then any other product out there, it comes installed on almost every pc, and people think that since symantec is well everywhere , IT MUST BE GOOD, WRONG,

Although I don't like Rinsing bacause of the speed,I am proud of "VirusTotal += Rising".It is only one Chinese AV in VirusTotal.

Dear friend if it is at the cost of your PC than i would suggest you to use an antivirus which is user friendly as well as cost effective.So you should use QUICK HEAL antivirus.It is the best in all the way,i am using it.

after i watched someone's comments above , i've got somethin' to say

first, you have the right to select which av you'd like to use , if you think rising08 (or other version) would slow down ur pc , you can leave it and select other avs like kp,nod,etc.

second, you should pay attention to these words 'Currently, there is not any solution that offers a 100% effectiveness rate for detecting viruses and malware' , although rising has a poor antivirus database(or a poor way to detect a virus), you shouldn't bring the dirty words here(may be you just wanna say it like a joke,but .. do not do like that) , because here's the VIRUSTOTAL'S BLOG , for everyone , you must not want to see someone putting some dirty word onto your blog.

and the bad engine (before r08 , seems like it use r03 engine) is surely t o improve a lot ,if you really have some complains to tell the rising lab , you could create a new post into rising bbs

third, virustotal provides a free vir-scanning service , and then put r08 onto thier server , nothing wrong with them , right ?(I know your word 'f**k' is said to rising lab.. )

the last one , if you're really unpleased with r08 , uninstall it ! (though sometimes it may crashed..) and pls DO NOT bring the dirty worlds all over the world (an idea : you may go to baidu post bar to tell what you want to say.)

There's no AV that offers 100% security……
In fact rising is fairly good, although not good enough.
All Chinese compuer users know it...and sometimes the so-so Rising AV really helps,though.

It is only one antivirus added of chinese, no matter whether it is good or worse, think that there is a very large people using pc in china, not any antivirus can collect the chinese virus all, Rising is the local antivirus in China, I think it can collect more local virus, don't say it can collect all. here is scan virus online, not install antivrius on your pc, don't disscussing about any rising's Ability here. Here is virus total, not virus technology.

I think it is no necessity to add all antivirus, it will make the scanning slows down.

Rising AV is one of worse AV software I ever used, I was tricked by one of Cebit show, thinking it's alright, but big mistake soon I discovered my desktop was clawing with spyware & viruses. Don't ever use this dumb AV again. Better using Kaspersky or McAfee.

If you guys ever use this Rising again, you will end up with trojans.

100% agreed with Rising AV is one of the worse AV on market. No body will buy this shit AV even worse than Indian AV and NOD32 and ClamAV.

Trust me stick with US or Russian AVs, I always trust kaspersky or mcafee. Btw, Symantec is also shit.

什么是Best？什么是Worst？用什么标准评判出来的Best还是Worst？
其实Best和Worst是只是每个人心中的标准，你自己觉得好用、爱用就够了，为何要用语言攻击别人心中的标准？
我不认为Rising应该自称Best，顶多就说是Biggest。但是我更鄙夷那些攻击瑞星杀毒软件的人，你们有什么资格批评别人用的杀软？你们用的什么？你可以去网上搜一下你所用的杀软有多少人在骂！还不知廉耻的在老外面前骂中国自己人。我用过瑞星、江民和金山，现在正在用江民，我感觉江民技术确实不错，占用内存也比较小，但是金山的病毒库确实不敢恭维，但是都没感觉出江民和金山比瑞星明显的优点。
我感觉有些人的瑞星经常出问题，是因为瑞星在中国有最多的用户，国产的病毒几乎全有针对瑞星的动作，所以致使你们的瑞星总是出问题。
我认为杀软只是个辅助工具，真正厉害的病毒需要靠自己去手工杀。
谁好谁坏不是一个值得争论的问题，你不喜欢不用就是了，何必在老外面前骂中国人？骂中国的产品？中国有产品在世界上打出的名堂来不容易，有本事你去扛起国产产品进军世界的大旗！！！

Rising is pretty good that it has the biggest viruslist in China,and the denfend module is much easier to use than Kaspersky AV.
Rising presents the best av technique of China to the world,it has the best reputation overseas.
As long as you set your HIPS in a right way,99% of the threats can`t harm your PC.

If you are chinese , you will never be proud of Rising since it is rather a 'dirty' company without any ethics.

The chinese are generally not familiary with computer operations (beginners) ,thus conscious with security. AD is the factor that impact their choices!
